South Bethany real estate is unlike others in this area known as the 'quiet resorts.' The reason being is this community is almost completely residential. A very small and peaceful place of about 450 people, South Bethany is held dear in the hearts of the town residents. It is true that the summer vacation months bring tremendous numbers of vacationers to this area. Sort of a resort with permanent residents rather than what most would typically think an ocean-side resort would offer. In fact, just north of Bethany Beach are multimillion dollar real estate residential homes and condominiums nestled between Bethany Beach and Delaware Seashore State Park.

South Bethany is affectionately called "The Best Little Beach in Delaware" to those who are fortunate enough to live there. Exclusive beach front real estate is a most appropriate term for this area without a doubt. We must say the single family homes are not for everyone simply due to the nature of the beach and town. The residents lavish in the ability to enjoy the sound of ocean waves minus the noise of summer vacationers having a great time. It is merely a preference and way of life chosen by the relatively few inhabitants. Here are some figures, although not recent, to give you an idea of the dynamics that exist at South Bethany. By the mid-1980s, even though there were almost 1300 pieces of real estate in the town along with roughly 750 single family homes, there were still only just slightly over 100 full-time residents living there year-round. So you can easily imagine how quiet it can get during the off-season. Just like very many other beaches all up and down the eastern US ocean coastline, there have been the natural ecological issues that must be faced. As you know, the eastern US is exposed to hurricanes and tropical storms during the season for them. These natural events can inflict quite a bit of damage when they directly hit a beach. So off and on over the years South Bethany has received funding to restore areas of the beach as a result of these natural events. But that is nothing new at all, and business is taken care of and the quiet life moves along. We don't blame you if you have found your self daydreaming about such a unique environment that South Bethany real estate has to offer.
