Bear, Delaware Real Estate
Not really all that long ago there was not much at all in the Bear area. But since then shopping centers and all manner of business activity has arrived. There are plenty of restaurants and just about anything else you would need or want on a daily basis. Jim Kelly can tell you much more about all that is available in this busy little area just south of Wilmington and the Christiana Mall. This area in and around Bear is an ideal place for singles and families. Perhaps one thing that many people like about this area is the central location. If you have a family with school-aged children, there is a lot to choose from as Bear is serviced by three public school districts. In addition to public education, there are ample choices for private education. However, the school districts for public education are Christina, Colonial and Appoquinimink. The latter is also used by families who live in the Middletown Delaware area. If you like the outdoors and all the various activities associated with it, then you will enjoy Lums Pond State Park if you want to keep things close to home. This park covers an area of almost 1800 acres, and the pond is Delaware's largest freshwater body. You and the family can enjoy various activities all year round, and of course it is open to the public. The one thing that is not permitted in the pond is swimming. However, you can fish and boat as you desire, and there is a good variety of non-powered craft available to rent. If you love fishing, then will be happy to know that Lum's Pond is a freshwater fishery. The freshwater game living in the pond are crappie, catfish, large-mouth bass, a strain of striped bass, pickerel and carp. Of course you can also camp there with the family if you like. Bear real estate has grown so much in the past ten to fifteen years, and it may be ideal for your family. The best way to find out more about this area is to just give Jim a quick call. He will be happy to answer your questions and help you as much as possible.
