Georgetown, Delaware Real Estate

Georgetown real estate draws on a rich diversity of influences in the 19th and 18th centuries. For example, the Mansion House which is located in The Circle is in the Greek Revival style evident in the front-end area of the building. This structure is thought to have been constructed circa 1800, although the front was added in the period from 1830 to 1866. Another Greek Revival architectural influence is present in the Sorden-Rollins House. This building was built during the period, 1791 to 1801. Georgetown offers walking tours of the downtown area which includes The Circle as mentioned above. It is in this historic part of the town where you can see Early-Georgian and Georgian architectural influences. The Old Farmers Bank, constructed in 1852, was renovated during the 1970s in the Georgian tradition. The Judges, built in 1809, is in the Early-Georgian style and served as private residence for judges, two Secretary's of State for Delaware and State Supreme Court Justices. Of course there are fine education opportunities for the family as the town is served by four school districts. Woodbridge School District, Cape Henlopen School District, Lakeview School District, Milford School District and Delmar School District are all accessible for school-aged children in your family. Southern Delaware and Georgetown, in particular, are home to higher education institutions, as well. University of Delaware has a campus within the city as does Wilmington College, Delaware State University and Salisbury State University which is headquartered in Salisbury, Maryland. Georgetown is distinguished in a number of ways from other towns and cities in Delaware. Often these qualities are a result of the unique history that culminated in today's environment. Of course there are excellent real estate opportunities for the single person and families. Jim Kelly can find your ideal single family home in the town or in the surrounding area. If you are more interested in a condo or townhome, Jim can point you in the right direction and be there to provide any assistance.
